The former residence of Pan Hannian is a cultural tourism attraction.

The former residence of Pan Hannian is located in Luping Village, Xinjie Subdistrict, Yixing City. To commemorate and promote Pan Hannian, in 2000, the preparatory office of the Pan Hannian Former Residence in Luping Village renovated the dilapidated parts of the site, rebuilt five single-story houses on the original location, and erected a bronze statue of Pan Hannian. The primary school in Luping Village was also renamed “Pan Hannian Primary School.” The former Mayor of Shanghai inscribed the name for the statue and the primary school. The residence displays an exhibition titled “The Life and Deeds of Pan Hannian.” The entire site covers an area of 653.2 square meters, with a building area of 286 square meters.

Pan Hannian (1906–1977) was from Luping Village, Gujing Township (now Xinjie Subdistrict), Yixing. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he successively served as Vice Mayor of Shanghai, Head of the Social Department and the — Department of the East China Bureau, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee, and Vice Mayor of Shanghai. In April 1977, he passed away unjustly due to illness in Changsha, Hunan. In August 1982, the Central Committee rehabilitated him and restored his reputation.

Environmental Science and Technology Park (Xinjie Subdistrict): In 2007, Xinja Street was abolished, and its former jurisdictional area was merged with the two neighborhood committees—Lüyuan and Wenchang—and the five village committees—Nanhe, Tongfeng, Nanyue, Meiyuan, and Xieqiao—under the administration of Yicheng Subdistrict to establish Xinjie Subdistrict.
