Yixing Qinglong Bridge

Yixing Qinglong Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Yixing City.

Qinglong Bridge is located to the east of Songzhuang Natural Village in Penggan Village, Zhoutie Town, Yixing City (between Songzhuang Village and Houzhai Village). In May 2009, it was designated as a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit by the Yixing Municipal People’s Government.

Qinglong Bridge was built during the Qing Dynasty and is commonly known as Dongwuchang Bridge. It is a single-arch stone bridge oriented from east to west (slightly northeast at 20°) and constructed from granite. The total length of the bridge is 16.10 meters, the deck length is 1.70 meters, and the width at the middle is 2.75 meters. The clear span is 4.10 meters, the rise is 2.85 meters, and the height from the bottom of the bridge to the water surface is 3.10 meters. The eastern slope is 5.50 meters long, with a base width of 3.10 meters and a gradient of 14°, featuring 14 steps. The western slope is 6.10 meters long, with a base width of 3.10 meters and a gradient of 15°, also featuring 14 steps. The western bearing stone is 3.45 meters long, 0.40 meters wide, and 0.25 meters thick, with a spacing of 4.10 meters. The arch stones are 0.25 meters thick, and the decorative arch stones are 0.10 meters thick. The bridge inscription reads: “Reconstructed Qinglong Bridge.” The inscription stone is 1.70 meters long, 0.55 meters wide, and 0.25 meters thick.

The town covers a total area of 73.2 square kilometers, has a population of 58,800, and includes 14 village committees and 2 neighborhood committees, along with over 400 industrial enterprises.
