Yixing Shengping Bridge

Yixing Shengping Bridge is a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level in Yixing.

Shengping Bridge is located in Lanyou Village, Dingshu Town, Yixing City. In May 2009, it was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site by the Yixing Municipal People's Government.

Shengping Bridge was built during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty (1522–1566). It is a single-arch stone beam bridge oriented from southeast to northwest, constructed with a mix of granite and bluestone. The bridge has a total length of 14 meters and a central width of 2.10 meters. The clear span is 6 meters, and the height from the bottom of the bridge to the water surface is 3.20 meters. The southeast slope is 5 meters long with a 3.65-meter-wide approach and a 16° incline, featuring 14 steps. The northwest slope is 3.20 meters long (now modified with concrete steps). The bridge pillow stones are 2.70 meters long, 0.35 meters high, and 0.36 meters thick. There are four bridge pillar bases, each 2.27 meters long, 0.66 meters wide, and 0.26 meters thick, with inscribed couplets whose characters are no longer legible. There is also a river wharf near the bridge.
