Yixing Wan'an Bridge

Yixing Wan'an Bridge is a cultural relics protection unit of Yixing City.

Wan'an Bridge is located at No. 1 Nanruwei Linjiaqiao, Luping Village, Xinjie Subdistrict. In May 2009, the Yixing Municipal People's Government designated it as a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit.

Constructed in the sixth year of the Republic of China (1917), Wan'an Bridge is a single-arch stone bridge oriented east-west (10° southwest of west), built with a mix of granite and bluestone. The bridge body and decorative arch are made of bluestone, while the pillow stones, arch rings, bridge deck, step stones, and railings are made of granite. The total length of the bridge is 23 meters, the bridge deck (including the inscription stone) is 1.95 meters long, the middle width is 3.60 meters, the clear span is 6.09 meters, and the height to the apex is 3.50 meters. The ramp length is 10.40 meters, the abutment width is 4.07 meters, there are 25 steps, the slope is 13°, and the flat abutment length is 2.76 meters. The pillow stones are 4.70 meters long, with a spacing of 4.78 meters and an external spacing of 5.69 meters. The decorative arch is 0.16 meters thick, the arch ring is 0.22 meters thick, the railing is 0.55 meters high and 0.19 meters thick. The inscription stone is 0.28 meters thick, with the inscription: “Reconstructed in the Year of Dingyou, Wan'an Bridge, Sixth Year of the Republic of China.” The inscription stone is 1.95 meters long and 0.28 meters thick. On the exterior wall of the house on the east side of the bridge (address: No. 1 Linjiaqiao) there is a stele from the seventh year of the Republic of China (1918) titled “Record of the Reconstruction of Wan'an Bridge,” which is 1.90 meters high, 0.81 meters wide, and 0.17 meters thick.

Environmental Technology Park (Xinjie Subdistrict): In 2007, Xinjie Town was abolished, and its former jurisdictional area, together with the two neighborhood committees of Lüyuan and Wenchang under the management of Yicheng Subdistrict, as well as the five village committees of Nanhé, Tongfeng, Nanyue, Méi, and Xieqiao in Jiangsu Province’s Yixing City, Xinjie Subdistrict, were merged to establish Xinjie Subdistrict.

Located in the central part of Yixing City. It borders Yicheng Town to the east, Zhangzhu Town to the south, Xushè Town and Jīngtáng Town to the west, and Xi? to the north. The area covers 9 square kilometers, with a permanent population of 29,000.
