Wuchang Bridge

Wuchang Bridge is a cultural relics protection unit of Yixing City.

Wuchang Bridge is located in Songzhuang Natural Village, Penggan Village, Zhoutie Town, Yixing City. In May 2009, the Yixing Municipal People's Government designated it as a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit.

Wuchang Bridge was built during the Qing Dynasty and is a stone arch bridge, commonly known as Wanggong Bridge. It runs from north to south and is constructed with a mix of granite and bluestone — the bridge deck is made of granite, while the main structure is built with bluestone. The bridge deck is 1.50 meters long and 2.90 meters wide. The bridge slabs are 1.50 meters long, 0.42 meters wide, and 0.20 meters thick. The northern slope is 5.35 meters long with a 9° incline, featuring 8 steps and a lower end width of 3 meters. The southern slope is 4.90 meters long with a 9° incline, featuring 11 steps and a lower end width of 2.85 meters, with a tread stone width of 0.40 meters. The northern side bearing stone is 3.45 meters long, 0.30 meters wide, and 0.30 meters thick. The inner spacing between bearing stones is 2.65 meters, and the outer spacing is 3.35 meters. The clear span is 3 meters, the rise is 2.60 meters, and the height from the bottom of the bridge to the water surface is 2.90 meters. The arch stones are 0.28 meters thick, and the decorative arch stones are 0.10 meters thick. The bridge inscription reads: Wuchang Bridge. The inscription stone is 1.50 meters long, 0.42 meters wide, and 0.20 meters thick.
