Ziyun Mountain Tablet

The Ziyun Mountain Tablet is a cultural relic protection unit of Yixing City.

The Ziyun Mountain Tablet is located on Ziyun Mountain in Shuibei Village, Xinjie Town, Yixing City. In January 1985, it was designated as a county-level cultural relics protection unit by the People's Government of Yixing County.

The Ziyun Mountain Tablet is a remnant from the tomb of Xu Yuankai, the eldest son of Xu Pu, who served as the Minister of Rites and Grand Secretary of the Wuying Hall during the Ming Dynasty. Originally, there were multiple pairs of stone carvings in front of the tomb, including stone figures, stone horses, stone sheep, and tablets. During the reservoir construction project in 1958, most of the tomb and the stone carvings were destroyed, leaving only one tablet remaining.

The Ziyun Mountain Tablet is made of bluestone, oriented from south to north (5° west of north). At its top is carved a single-horned auspicious beast, crouching atop a round lotus base, with a square chamfered column below. The bottom diameter of the tablet is 0.80 meters, and its height is 8.45 meters. The base is 0.53 meters high, with sides measuring 1.63 meters (forming a square).

Environmental Technology Park (Xinjie Subdistrict): In 2007, Xinjie Town was abolished, and its former jurisdictional area was merged with the two neighborhood committees of Lüyuan and Wenchang under the administration of Yicheng Subdistrict, along with the five village committees of Nanhe, Tongfeng, Nanyue, Meijiangsu, and Xieqiao, to establish Xinjie Subdistrict.
