Yan Zhuang Peide Bridge

Yan Zhuang Peide Bridge is located in Yan Zhuang Group, Nancang Village, Wanshi Town. In March 2003, it was designated as a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit by the Yixing Municipal People's Government.

Yan Zhuang Peide Bridge was built during the Qing Dynasty. It is a single-arch stone beam bridge oriented from north to south (36° west of south), constructed with a mix of granite and bluestone. The bridge deck and pillars are made of granite, while the bridge foundation and railings are made of bluestone. The total length of the bridge is 23.60 meters, with the bridge deck measuring 8.20 meters long, a central width of 2.84 meters, and an abutment width of 4.28 meters. The clear span of the bridge arch is 6.80 meters. Currently, some parts of the railing are missing, leaving only one side intact. The remaining railing is 0.44 meters high and 0.24 meters thick. The northern slope has a gradient of 6°. Approximately 30 meters west of the bridge is a bridge pier dating back to the Ming Dynasty, featuring two bridge railing pillars. There is also a stone stele inscribed with “Record of She Tian of the Yan Zhuang Grand Ancestral Hall.” The inscription is dated: “The 11th year of the Qianlong reign, summer, fifth month.” The stele is 0.76 meters wide, 1.47 meters long, and 0.27 meters thick. The tenon of the stele measures 0.18×0.14×0.09 meters. The base of the stele is 0.35 meters wide, 0.95 meters long, and 0.26 meters thick.
