Gehzhuang Double Bridge

Gehzhuang Double Bridge is located in Gehzhuang Village, Guanlin Town. In March 2003, it was designated as a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit by the Yixing Municipal People's Government.

Gehzhuang Double Bridge was built in the first year of the Xuantong reign during the Qing Dynasty (1909). It consists of two L-shaped arch bridges, one larger and one smaller. The main bridge runs east-west, with 26 stone steps on each side. It is constructed of blue stone, and the bridge surface steps are made of granite, featuring lintel stones. The total length of the bridge is 22.10 meters, the bridge deck is 1.70 meters long, the middle width is 3.16 meters, and the abutment width is 4.10 meters. The clear span is 5.40 meters, the rise is 3.60 meters, the distance between pillow stones is 4.40 meters, each pillow stone is 4.10 meters long and 0.36 meters wide. The west slope is 10.35 meters long, the abutment width is 4 meters, and the pillow stone under the west abutment is 4.50 meters long. The east slope is 10.25 meters long, the abutment width is 4.10 meters, the pillow stone under the east abutment is 4.45 meters long, the tread stone is 0.50 meters wide. The arch ring is 0.26 meters thick, the decorative arch is 0.13 meters thick. The bridge inscription stone is 0.40 meters thick, with the inscription: “Reconstructed Double Bridge.” The smaller bridge runs north-south, connecting to the north side of the western abutment of the main bridge. It is built of blue stone, is 4.70 meters long and 2.22 meters wide. The clear span is 2.80 meters, the rise is 1.30 meters, the distance between pillow stones is 2.10 meters, and the arch ring is 0.20 meters thick.
