The Former Residence of the Bao Family

The Former Residence of the Bao Family is located at No. 61, Xidongzhuang Village, Dingshu Town. In May 2009, it was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site by the Yixing Municipal People's Government.

Constructed during the Qing Dynasty, the Former Residence of the Bao Family faces south and consists of three courtyards. It spans a total width of nine bays (25.40 meters) and has a depth of 48 meters. The first courtyard is 7.45 meters deep and is followed by a brick-carved gate. The courtyard between the first and second sections is 15.40 meters deep, with a single-story house built in the 1970s situated within it. The second courtyard is 9.40 meters deep, and the space between the second and third sections is 5.50 meters deep. The third courtyard is 10.20 meters deep and consists of a two-story building. The Former Residence of the Bao Family currently serves as residential housing, with multiple households living there under complex ownership arrangements. While the overall structure retains its original layout, many modifications have been made.
