Yixing Jianlong Bridge

Jianlong Bridge is located in Dong’an Village, Xinzhuang Subdistrict, Yixing City. In May 2009, the Yixing Municipal Government designated it as a municipal-level cultural heritage protection site.

Jianlong Bridge was built during the Qing Dynasty as a single-arch stone bridge, oriented from southeast to northwest, and constructed with a mix of granite and bluestone. The bridge deck is 2.15 meters long and 2.70 meters wide. The northwest ramp is 6.40 meters long with a 20° slope, featuring 18 steps, a lower abutment width of 3.25 meters, tread stones 0.40 meters wide and 0.13 meters thick. The southeast ramp is 7.30 meters long with a 20° slope and 18 steps. The keystone measures 0.85 by 0.85 meters. The pillow stones are 3.15 meters long, 0.27 meters wide, and 0.22 meters thick, spaced 4.15 meters apart. The clear span is 5.50 meters, the rise is 3.20 meters, and the height from the bridge bottom to the water surface is 3.40 meters. The arch stones are 0.22 meters thick, and the decorative arch stones are 0.08 meters thick. The bridge inscription reads “Reconstructed Jianlong Bridge.” The inscription stone is 2 meters long, 0.40 meters wide, and 0.26 meters thick.

Xinzhuang Subdistrict: Xinzhuang Subdistrict is located in the eastern part of Yixing City. It covers an area of 44 square kilometers and has a population of 38,000. The town government is situated on Zhenze Road in Xinzhuang, 11 kilometers east of the municipal government seat. It borders Taihu Lake to the east, Dingshu Town to the south, Yicheng Subdistrict to the west, and Zhoutie Town to the north. It administers 11 villages—Jiaodu, Hexin, Hongxiang, Xinzhuang, Suyang, Dong?, Bi, Yi, Ma, Zhu, and Fu—as well as two community committees: Zhenze and Nanyang.
