Dayu Bridge

Dayu Bridge is located one kilometer north of Shanbei Natural Village, Dushan Village, Guanlin Town, Yixing City. In May 2009, it was designated as a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit by the Yixing Municipal People’s Government.

Built during the Qing Dynasty, Dayu Bridge is a single-span stone beam bridge oriented from north to south (southeast by 35°), constructed with a mix of granite and bluestone. The total length of the bridge is 23.28 meters, the deck is 7 meters long, and the middle width is 3.50 meters. The clear span is 5.90 meters, and the height from the bottom of the bridge to the water surface is 4 meters. The southern slope is 8.30 meters long, with a 4-meter-wide abutment and a 12° slope, while the flat approach is 4.35 meters long. The northern slope is 7.70 meters long, with a 3.95-meter-wide abutment and a 12° slope. There are 20 stone steps on both the north and south sides. The northern bank section of the bridge is 29.20 meters long. The spacing between the bearing stones is 5.65 meters.
