Wuzheng Nunnery

Located on the mountainside of the southern slope of Huangya Peak, it is surrounded by thousands of slender bamboos and drifting auspicious clouds, resembling a fairyland. The nunnery’s gate bears the plaque “Temple of Three Teachings.” Originally built during the Southern Song Dynasty, although now reduced to ruins, it still preserves inscribed stone tablets from various periods for visitors to explore and reflect upon. The area around Wuzheng Nunnery is densely planted with tea trees, and the misty tea produced here is of premium quality. In the past, monks cultivated a small number of tea bushes near the temple, harvesting only one or two kilograms per year, which they kept secret and did not show to others. To this day, some old tea trees from the Ming Dynasty remain in the area, hailed as the tea kings of Yuntai Mountain.
