The Cliff Inscriptions at Chunyang Nunnery are a cultural relic protection unit of Lianyungang’s Lianyun District.

These inscriptions are located at Dayan in Baiguo Tree Village, Yunshan Subdistrict, backed by the slopes of Suwendeng and facing the plains of Wuyang Lake to the south. They are 2,000 meters west of the Immortal Cave in Lizhuang.

The inscribed surface is 0.67 meters high and 1 meter wide, with characters measuring 25 centimeters in diameter. The text reads: “Chunyang Nunnery, Xianchun Gengwu Year (1270), disciple of Yanxi, Sun Hui, inscribed with care.” This inscription was carved in the sixth year of the Xianchun era during the Southern Song Dynasty (1270), by Sun Huizhang, a disciple of Taoist Master Yanxi, in honor of Chunyang Nunnery. It is the earliest surviving Taoist dedicatory inscription in the city. The nunnery, along with the Immortal Cave and Laojun Hall, is a sacred site of Taoism on the Posterior Yuntai Mountain and holds significant importance in the history of Taoist development. It provides important evidence for the study of the origin and evolution of Taoism in the region.

Yunshan Subdistrict is situated at the southern foot of Beiyuntai Mountain. It borders the Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant to the east, connects to Xingangcheng Avenue to the west, neighbors the Municipal Development Zone to the south, stretches 11 kilometers from east to west in a strip-like formation, and covers an area of 19.36 square kilometers. The subdistrict administers five administrative villages: Pingshan, Laojun Tang, Lizhuang, Baiguo Tree, and Huangya. The offices of the Subdistrict Party Working Committee and the Subdistrict People's Government are located in Lizhuang. The subdistrict has a total of 2,562 households and 8,344 residents, including 5,630 agricultural population.
