Pingshan Flagpole Clamps and Xiaocun Flagpole Clamps

The Pingshan Flagpole Clamps are located in Pingshan Village, Yunshan Subdistrict Office, Lianyun District, Lianyungang City. The Pingshan Flagpole Clamps consist of two perforated long stones, one in the south and one in the north. The base of the slabs is buried in the ground, with a spacing of 0.61 meters between them, and both stones are about 2 meters high. Each stone has three holes: the upper and lower ones are square, with sides measuring 0.13–0.14 meters, and the middle one is round, with a diameter of 0.13–0.14 meters.

The Xiaocun Flagpole Stone is located on a hillside about 400 meters northeast of Xiaocun, Huaguoshan Subdistrict, Haizhou District, Lianyungang City. The Xiaocun Flagpole Stone is a relic from the Qing Dynasty, consisting of two trapezoidal slabs standing opposite each other, with a spacing of 0.6 meters between them. The main stone is 1.62 meters long, 0.16 meters thick, and 0.62 meters wide, with an upper hole diameter of 0.16 meters, and a lower hole that is 0.14 meters long and 0.10 meters wide.

Flagpole clamps were markers used during the Ming and Qing dynasties to indicate mooring and docking points for maritime navigation. Now that the sea has receded eastward, these flagpole stones, as markers of harbors and docks, have become important historical relics of Lianyungang City.

In 2010, they were announced as part of the fourth batch of cultural heritage conservation units of Lianyungang City.

Yunshan Subdistrict is situated at the southern foot of Beiyuntai Mountain. It borders the Tianwan Nuclear Power Station to the east, connects to Xingangcheng Avenue to the west, neighbors the Municipal Development Zone to the south, and stretches 11 kilometers from east to west in a strip-like distribution, covering an area of 19.36 square kilometers. The subdistrict governs five administrative villages: Pingshan, Laojuntang, Lizhuang, Baiguo, and Huangya. The offices of the subdistrict Party Working Committee and the Subdistrict Office are located in Lizhuang. The subdistrict has a total of 2,562 households and 8,344 residents, including 5,630 agricultural residents.
