Zhuang Suoyuan Newspaper Clipping Collection Museum

The Zhuang Suoyuan Newspaper Clipping Collection Museum is located in Hongkou District, Shanghai. Established in March 1992, the museum was founded by a man whose life has been closely tied to newspapers. Even in his seventies, he remained passionate and dedicated, amassing a collection of 350,000 newspaper clippings. The collection includes the first issue and complete volumes 1–18 of China’s first popular science publication, Science Pictorial, along with the vast majority of its materials spanning 60 years, as well as historical materials from various science-focused publications from before and after the liberation period. His remarkable dedication to newspaper collecting, which he maintained for over 60 years, earned him a place in the Chinese Collectors’ Celebrity Dictionary.
