The Exhibition Hall of Historical Materials on the Fourth National Congress of the Communist Party of China is a classic red tourism destination and a patriotic education base.

From January 11 to 22, 1925, the Fourth National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held at No. 8, Lane 28, Lane 254, Dongbaoxing Road, Shanghai. The Congress was attended by 20 delegates representing 994 party members across the country, including Chen Duxiu, Cai Hesen, Qu Qiubai, and Zhou Enlai. Delegates from the Communist International, including Vasily V. Vinogradov, participated in the Congress. Chen Duxiu, on behalf of the Third Central Executive Committee of the CPC, delivered a work report. The meeting passed 14 documents, amended the Party Constitution, and elected members and alternate members of the Central Executive Committee, with Chen Duxiu serving as General Secretary. This Congress conducted a relatively systematic exploration of some fundamental issues of the Chinese revolution and, for the first time in the Party’s history, explicitly put forward the leadership of the proletariat in the democratic revolution and the issue of the worker-peasant alliance. The site of the Fourth CPC National Congress was originally a three-story (false third floor) brick-and-wood Shikumen-style residence facing east. It was destroyed by Japanese artillery fire on January 28, 1932. On November 17, 1987, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government designated the site of the Fourth National Congress of the Communist Party of China as a Shanghai Revolutionary Memorial Site.

The exhibition hall of the Fourth CPC National Congress historical materials is divided into four major sections: “Turbulent Times,” “Historic Monument,” “Awakening Workers and Peasants,” and “Red Hongkou.” The total exhibition area is 100 square meters, displaying a total of 35 collections.
