On Christmas Eve, the Shanghai Christian Hongde Hall Church holds a choir performance accompanied by an organ, singing the Christmas carol "Silent Night." The event is synchronized with several major Christian churches in Shanghai. The main venue's activities are transmitted digitally to each church and displayed on two large screens at the front of the hall. This church is unique for its traditional Chinese classical architectural style — featuring a double-eaved, square, pyramidal-roofed bell tower, bracket sets and painted decorations under the eaves, and red imitation wooden columns, making it a rather rare style for church buildings. On weekdays, gospel films are shown on the first floor, while the second floor is open to visitors on weekends.
