The Fourth National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held from January 11 to 22, 1925, at No. 8, Lane 28, Lane 254, Dongbaoxing Road, now in Hongkou District. The site was originally a three-and-a-half-story false brick-and-wood structure Shikumen residence facing east. It was destroyed during the January 28th Incident of the Shanghai War in 1932. In 2011, with support from the municipal government, the Hongkou District Committee and District Government selected a site at 1468 North Sichuan Road to establish the Memorial Hall of the Fourth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, which officially opened on September 7, 2012.

The current Memorial Hall of the Fourth National Congress of the Communist Party of China is located in the green space garden at the intersection of North Sichuan Road and Xingjiaqiao South Road. The historical exhibition area inside the memorial hall features replicas of Shikumen-style rooms.

A replica model of the original site at No. 8, Lane 28, Lane 254, Dongbaoxing Road, which was originally a three-and-a-half-story false brick-and-wood structure Shikumen residence facing east. It was destroyed during the January 28th Incident of the Shanghai War in 1932.

On November 17, 1987, the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government designated the site of the Fourth National Congress of the Communist Party of China as a Shanghai Revolutionary Memorial Site. In 1995, the Shanghai Cultural Relics Management Committee erected a commemorative stone at the site.
