Hotel Moderne is a national key cultural relics protection unit.

Hotel Moderne is located at No. 89 Zhongyang Street, Daoli District, Harbin. Originally built in 1906 and completed in 1913, it was formerly known as the Moderne Hotel. The building features an Art Nouveau style and is a municipal-level cultural heritage site.

The hotel is a tourist-oriented accommodation and a member of the China Friendship Tourism Hotel Group. It is designed in the Louis XIV style of the French Renaissance. Situated on the bustling Zhongyang Street, it lies to the north of the scenic Songhua River and east of the Ice Lantern Garden Party Exhibition (Zhao Lin Park). With convenient transportation, it is in the heart of Harbin’s cultural, entertainment, and commercial activity zones.

Hotel Moderne combines European architectural styles with luxury, elegance, quaint charm, and a refreshing modern vibe. It offers standard rooms, single rooms, deluxe suites, and duplex suites. There are distinctive Chinese and Western restaurants that can accommodate up to 480 guests simultaneously. The hotel also features a Russian-style cold drinks lounge, a shopping area, a bar, beauty and hairdressing services, a multi-function hall, a swimming pool, tennis courts, KTV rooms, a taxi company, a travel agency, a hotel management company, and a business center—all available onsite. It serves as an ideal destination integrating dining, lodging, travel, shopping, entertainment, and tourism.

The Hotel Moderne Patriotic Education Base covers an area of approximately 2,000 square meters. Its unveiling ceremony was held on September 18, 2009. Hotel Moderne not only possesses high artistic value but also bears witness to many significant events in modern Chinese history. It has hosted notable historical figures such as Soong Ching-ling, Li Lisan, Guo Moruo, Ma Yinchu, and the “Four Great Dan” opera stars. Notably, from September to November 1948, preparatory activities for the new Political Consultative Conference were held here.

In May 2013, the State Council (State Council Document [2013] No. 13) designated Hotel Moderne as a national key cultural relics protection unit.

Transportation: Take bus routes 74, 94, 64, 103, 1, 16, or 101 within Harbin and get off at the China Life Insurance Company (Daoli Qidaojie) stop. Walk 210 meters to reach the hotel.
