　The starting point of the Sunke Zhanhe River rafting is located in Zhanbei Forest Farm in the upper reaches of the Zhanhe River, with the endpoint at Xin’e Township. The total length is 80 kilometers, the river reaches a maximum width of 100 meters and a minimum of

40 meters, the water depth ranges from a maximum of 3 meters to a minimum of 0.5 meters, the maximum flow speed is 3 meters per second, the maximum flow rate is 1,750 cubic meters per second,

and the average flow rate is 67 cubic meters per second. The river gradient is 1.14%. The riverbed consists of granite bedrock and river pebbles. The water

is clear and unpolluted. The river channel is winding, with one section where rocks are exposed, known as “Starry Sky,” and there are 17 rapids.

To go rafting on the Sunke Zhanhe River, you need to take a vehicle to Zhanhe Forestry Bureau, then transfer to a forest railcar to Zhanbei Forest Farm. The rafting

section is situated between valleys, with steep cliffs and uniquely shaped exposed rock formations along both banks. Water levels vary seasonally,

with the freezing period lasting from November to April each year. Water levels are highest during the rainy season, and the best time for rafting is from June to September. Rafting

activities began in 1985, mainly involving fishing, hunting, and gathering wild products during the rafting experience. The river is home to a variety of fish species, while the surrounding areas host many species of birds and wildlife. The river section is well-preserved and unpolluted. Municipal, county, township, and forestry bureau authorities are all developing this

tourist route. The Sunke County government plans to build an intermediate station at Gadamin, located in the middle of the rafting section, to provide rafters

with resting, camping, and recreational facilities. So far, over 200 tourists from Japan, the United States, Canada,

Russia, and domestic regions have come here to engage in rafting and other activities.

(I) Natural Conditions

Xin’e Township is located at the northern foot of the Lesser Khingan Mountains, in the middle and lower reaches of the Zhanhe River Basin. It borders Kelin Township to the east; borders Suiling County and Beian City to the south; neighbors Dedu County and Sunwu County to the west; and connects to Sunhe Township and Songshugou Township to the north. It is 81 kilometers away from the county seat. The area falls between the fifth and sixth accumulated temperature zones, with an annual accumulated temperature of 1,900–2,000 degrees Celsius. The terrain is mountainous and semi-mountainous, with the total jurisdictional area of the township covering 7,561.2 square kilometers.
