Kurbin is a Manchu word meaning "drying net ground" in Chinese. The Kurbin River originates from the northern slope of the Lesser Khingan Mountains and is a first-level tributary on the right bank of the Heilongjiang River. It is the second-largest river in Xunke County, with a drop of 695 meters from its source to its confluence with the Heilongjiang River. The entire Kurbin River rafting journey spans 15 kilometers and takes about four hours. Along the way, towering rocky mountains line both banks, and the breathtaking scenery along the Kurbin River is truly astounding. Various flowers and plants grow between the rocky cliffs on both sides, with blooming flowers adding a mysterious charm to the stony landscape. The mountains are covered with tall, upright trees, including coniferous species such as larch and Korean pine, as well as broadleaf species like birch, black birch, and linden. The river basin covers an area of over 4,900 square kilometers. The Kurbin River maintains abundant water flow year-round, with winding channels, significant drops, and rapid currents. Steep cliffs are common along the banks, and the river is dotted with bizarre rocks and dangerous shoals, offering rafters an exhilarating and thrilling experience.

On either side of the Kurbin River, one bank features rugged rocks and cliffs, while the other is covered with lush green mountains. Looking up, the mountains rise continuously, dark and deep green, densely forested and rich in vegetation. Smooth rock faces occasionally have lone or clustered trees clinging to them, facing the river and nature as they weather wind and rain. The cliffs stand forever as angular, proud, and unyielding figures. Though wind peels away at them, rain erodes them, and time turns them into cold black and gray tones that torment them, they remain majestic and towering, reaching toward the sky. Hardy grasses grow stubbornly on their surfaces, and nameless wildflowers bloom sporadically. I take pride in thinking that the wisdom and courage of the people on both banks must have grown from these steep cliffs. Looking down at the river surface, the rugged cliffs and verdant forests are all uniformly reflected upside down in the water. Fish can be seen swimming beneath, and even the sky above is clearly mirrored. Such deep waters remain so crystal clear and spotless. Kurbin River, how much noise from the mundane world must you have absorbed for your spirit to be so tranquil and indifferent?
