Tianci Lake

The beautiful body of water before you is called “Tianci Lake.” Lakes are nothing unusual, but in a primeval forest, they become truly precious—especially one with such a lovely name. Covering a total area of 60,000 square meters, Tianci Lake has a water surface area of over 50,000 square meters. Its deepest point reaches up to 6 meters, while the average depth is about 2 meters, formed by the convergence of forest springs. Legend has it that in ancient times, three farming families lived here. They farmed from sunrise to sunset, living a leisurely and contented life. But one year, a severe drought struck—no rain fell at all, crops failed, and both villagers and animals faced the threat of survival. At that time, a brave young man decided to journey to other villages more than a hundred li away to fetch water. Undaunted by the dangers and overcoming countless hardships, he finally moved Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy. She dropped a single sacred drop from her jade bottle onto his hometown, and thus a lake was formed. Lush forests grew around the lake, creating the scenery we see today—hence the name “Tianci Lake” or “Heaven-Gifted Lake.” The lake water reflects the green mountains, and the mountains embrace the lake. The emerald waters, verdant peaks, leafy woods, blue sky, and white clouds form a picturesque landscape—a true work of art with a unique charm.
