Tangyuan County Museum

Tangyuan Museum is the only county-level comprehensive museum in the Jiamusi region, and also the most modern in exhibition methods, the largest in area, the most extensive in collections, and one of the more influential comprehensive museums in the Jiamusi cultural and museum field.

In 2008, a new site was chosen for reconstruction of the museum, which was designed by the Shenyang Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts. It was officially completed on June 27, 2011, and began offering free admission to the public. The building covers a construction area of 3,100 square meters. The first and second-floor exhibition halls feature permanent exhibits divided into seven sections: Ancient Echoes, Anti-Japanese War Flames, Folk Customs, Green Resources, Special Tourism, Advantageous Enterprises, and Rapid Changes. The third floor serves as a temporary exhibition hall, where the “56th Anniversary Photo Exhibition of the Yintang Project Construction” was held. The cultural relics collection increased from the original 586 items to 3,400 items, among which the number of precious cultural relics rose from 43 to 510 (including 4 first-grade, 12 second-grade, and 494 third-grade relics).

In December 2010, Tangyuan Museum was approved as a provincial-level patriotic education base by the Heilongjiang Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government. In 2011, its permanent exhibition was awarded one of the province’s “Top Ten Excellence Awards.” In December 2011, it received the Second Prize for Advanced Collectives in the Third National Cultural Relics Census of Heilongjiang Province. In May 2013, it was honored with the “Best Collection Acquisition” Award for Free Museum Admission in Heilongjiang Province. In May 2015, it joined the Northeast Three Provinces Anti-Japanese War Cultural Relics Alliance and became a council member. In 2017, relying on the region’s red resources and collections, it independently developed and designed six categories of cultural and creative products.
