The Naqihai Beishan Site is situated on a 3,000-meter-long ridge. Artifacts found here include pottery shards, microliths, and human and animal bones. The pottery shards are mostly yellowish-brown in color, made of fine clay mixed with shell powder. Microliths consist of arrowheads, scrapers, drills, and cores. Two black slate axes were also unearthed at the site. A white Xiuyan jade pendant was collected. The historical period roughly corresponds to the Western Zhou to the Spring and Autumn periods, about 2,500 to 3,000 years ago. It is believed to be the remains of the Donghu people or their ancestors.
