The Houshaoli Ancient City Ruins are rectangular in shape, with both the north and south walls approximately 200 meters long and the east and west walls about 150 meters long. They were built using rammed earth and board construction. Corner towers were built at all four corners. There are no signs of barbicans, battlements, or moats. In the northeast corner outside the city, there is an earthen mound with a diameter of about 15 meters, locally known as the "General's Platform." Inside the city, there are scattered remnants including a large number of blue bricks, patterned roof tile fragments, red, green, and yellow glazed tiles, gray animal-faced roof tiles, drip tiles, plain pottery shards, and some architectural components. This city was likely built during the Liao Dynasty and continued to be used during the Jin and Yuan dynasties.
