The Changshan Site is situated on a gentle “T”-shaped slope along the Dongliao River, featuring higher ground in the north and lower in the south. Artifacts are mainly concentrated on the sunny slope near the lake at the southern end of the Changshan slope. The early period is represented by microliths and sand-tempered pottery shards with decorative patterns, dating back about 6,000 years; the later period is marked by polished stone tools and plain, sand-tempered pottery shards, dating back approximately 3,000 years.
