Antu Fuman Ecological Valley is situated in the northeastern part of the world-famous Changbai Mountain, at the western edge of Mingyue Town in Antu County, neighboring the glistening Mingyue Lake. It is a newly developed scenic attraction on the tourism route from Yanbian to Changbai Mountain, recognized as a national-level agricultural eco-tourism demonstration zone, and celebrated as a paragon of eco-tourism, often referred to as the Shangri-La of the north.

Covering a total area of 129 square kilometers, Fuman Ecological Valley boasts abundant wildlife resources, with over 1,400 species. The land is rich in natural beauty and treasures, and the people are extraordinary, contributing to many fascinating local tales.

The origin of the name “Fuman” (meaning “Abundance of Blessings”) is steeped in good fortune. Legend has it that long ago, a celestial maiden came to this place and was so captivated by its beauty that she lingered, moved by the scenery, and composed a poem: “Clear mountains and waters present a fresh new view, / A myriad blossoms blush in spring’s vibrant hue. / Why is there such paradise on earth below? / I hope this blessed vale my offspring will know.” Just then, a kind and honest young man named Daqin happened by, and the two struck up a conversation. Pointing to the confluence of three streams, Daqin remarked, “Where three waters merge into one, blessings fill the valley.” The maiden joyfully responded, “Then let this place be called Fuman!” Daqin agreed cheerfully, “Fuman — what a wonderful name!” And so, the name “Fuman” was passed down through the ages.

As time passes, Fuman Ecological Valley has grown in fame and is now recognized as a national-level agricultural tourism demonstration area, forming a stunning highlight along the Changbai Mountain tourism trail.
