Hongqi Korean Ethnic Folk Village is located in Wanbao Town, Antu County, and is a Korean ethnic folk village designated at the provincial and prefectural levels. The village sits by the picturesque Guandong River, where clear waters flow gently. With flat terrain and a serene environment, Mingchang Highway runs through the village. Currently home to over eighty Korean households, the village has preserved ancient Korean ethnic customs and traditions. The village offers a rich variety of unique dishes such as dog meat soup, beef soup, river fish soup, seaweed soup, soybean paste soup, along with a wide assortment of pickled vegetables that are crisp and refreshing. Homemade rice wine, sake, and turbid wine, as well as specially prepared naengmyeon (cold noodles), tteok (rice cakes), songpyeon (pine-flavored rice cakes), and barbecued dishes, are sure to whet your appetite and leave a lasting impression. Since 1994, leveraging its advantages in folk tourism resources and geographical location, the village has vigorously developed tourism, leading to significant improvements in its tourism facilities. Standard restrooms have been built, traditional Korean restaurants renovated, and facilities for traditional Korean sports such as swings, seesaws, and wrestling grounds expanded. A shopping center selling local specialties has also been established, forming a comprehensive service system integrating transportation, sightseeing, dining, accommodation, shopping, and entertainment.

China’s First Korean Ethnic Village is situated along the essential route from Yanji to Changbai Mountain. All 86 households in the village are of Korean ethnicity. Here, visitors can not only directly participate in the making of traditional Korean foods such as tteok (rice cakes), saengseon ttok (fish-shaped rice cakes), and kimchi, but also experience traditional Korean sports games like seesaws and swings. Even more exciting is the “Korean Ethnic Folk Performance Theater,” which can accommodate over 300 people. Professional Korean ethnic singers and dancers perform authentic Korean songs and dances, offering visitors a comprehensive insight into Korean ethnic culture and a chance to experience traditional customs.
