Lotus Pond Scenery is located within the Fangchuan National Key Scenic Area at the southern foot of Shacao Peak, about 54.2 kilometers from the city center, covering an area of over 30 hectares. Every July and August, the red lotus flowers of the Tumen River, which have a history of 135 million years, bloom vibrantly in the lake, with red, white, and pink lotuses creating a stunning contrast. The surrounding hillsides are lush and green, while the lake teems with wild ducks and seabirds, occasionally dotted with egrets and red-crowned cranes, offering a scene reminiscent of West Lake. Due to the long-standing legends and spiritual significance of Lotus Lake, local residents have long formed the tradition of gathering in groups to admire the blooming lotuses during their peak season, praying for the blessings of the Lotus Fairy. Today, the Tumen River red lotus has gained widespread fame, attracting an increasing number of visitors. Here, tourists can take boat rides on the lake, enjoy the blossoms, go fishing, and even savor a feast of wild fish native to Lotus Lake.
