Dahuanggou Party History Education Base

Dahuanggou Party History Education Base is 90 li from the city center. It is the birthplace of the Hunchun County Committee and also served as the base area for Hunchun’s anti-Japanese resistance. It has been approved as a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit and a youth education base under the China Committee for the Care of the Next Generation.

The surrounding mountains of the Dahuanggou Anti-Japanese Base Area are high and densely forested, with undulating peaks and valleys. The Mijiang River meanders through the 70-li-long valley from northeast to southwest before finally flowing into the Tumen River.

Major historical sites in the Dahuanggou Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Base include:

the site of Beiyi School, the site of the Huangqu Soviet Government, the site where the 13 martyrs were killed, the site of the military preparatory meeting at Toutaoling, the site of the Hunchun County Committee, the site of the Beihuanggou Soviet Government, the site of the munitions factory, and the sites of the uniform and medical facilities.

Major revolutionary relics unearthed include: guns manufactured in the munitions factory, modified pistols, and daily necessities used by the military and civilians in the base area.
