Tingyan Mountain Fortress is situated on the northern mountain of Tingyan Village, about 22 li north of Tingyan Village, Liangshui Town, Tumen City, Jilin Province. The city wall was constructed by piling stones along the mountain ridge, forming an irregular triangle. It spans 2,800 meters, and the 31 pits distributed inside the wall may have been barracks. The interior features heated kang bed platforms. Judging from its structure and construction method, Tingyan Mountain Fortress is a natural military stronghold built during the Bohai Kingdom and the Liao-Jin period. It serves as an important cultural heritage site for studying the military and cultural aspects of the Bohai Kingdom and Liao-Jin era, holding significant historical and scientific value.

Liangshui Town is located 21 kilometers east of Tumen City. To the south, it faces North Korea’s Onsong County across the Tumen River; to the east, it is 40 kilometers from Hunchun, a national open city; and to the north, it is 41 kilometers from Wangqing County, situated at the junction of “two cities and one county.” The town covers an administrative area of 371.74 square kilometers. National Highway 302, the Changchun-Hunchun Expressway, and the Tumen-Hunchun Railway all run through the town, making transportation relatively convenient.
