Bailong Village: Bailong Village in Yueqing Town is situated in the southeastern part of Jilin Province, within Tumen City of the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture. It lies 9.5 kilometers from the town center. To the east, it borders the Tumen River, across which lies the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea; to the west, it neighbors Xiaohelong in Yanji; to the south, it is adjacent to Kaishantun Town in Longjing City; and to the north, it connects with Shijian Village. Bailong Village was established in the early years of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty. Originally, villagers were often harmed by tigers, and multiple notices were issued to drive the tigers away, hence the village was initially named “Buruiping,” which in Korean means “issuing notices to drive away tigers.” Later, inspired by a Korean folk tale in which a white dragon was believed to drive away tigers, the name was changed to Bailong (White Dragon).
