The former residence of Zhao Yidi, commonly known as "Miss Zhao Si’s Mansion," is an important part of the Zhang’s Mansion Museum, a national key cultural relic protection site. Between 1928 and 1931, General Zhang Xueliang and Madam Zhao Yidi lived here and gave birth to their beloved son, Zhang Lulin.

The rebuilt "Miss Zhao Si’s Mansion" is enclosed by newly renovated walls. As you push open the large iron gate, the courtyard is filled with the fragrance of flowers. The walls are adorned with potted plants. The first floor houses an elegant reception room, ballroom, and dining room, while the second floor features a guest parlor, bedroom, music room, living room, and bathroom—all exquisitely and luxuriously decorated, making visitors feel as if they can almost sense the presence and smile of Miss Zhao Si. The ceiling of the reception room is painted with the “Flying Cranes Auspicious Painting,” and the ballroom features splendid golden ceiling murals that are truly delightful and breathtaking. The French-style furniture inside, including sofas, tables, chairs, and beds, are all masterpieces of art, crafted from premium materials with exquisite workmanship, showcasing a sense of luxury and elegance. They reflect Zhao Yidi’s pursuit of learning, romance, and refined tastes, vividly recreating the life she shared with Zhang Xueliang and bearing witness to their touching love story.

Known as Miss Zhao Si, Zhao Yidi (1912–2000), also called Xiangsheng or Qixia, was the second wife of General Zhang Xueliang. She accompanied him for 72 years and stood by his side during their years of house arrest in Taiwan. Madam Zhao also published books such as Good News, New Life, True Freedom, Great Mission, and The Witness Collection of Yi-Di. On July 4, 1964, after waiting nearly half a century, Zhao Yidi finally married Zhang Xueliang officially and legitimately. The couple were eventually buried together in the United States, truly embodying the saying “through life and death, a bond unbroken”—a life well lived.
