Shenyang Arboretum

Shenyang Arboretum is located in the middle section of the South Canal in downtown Shenyang, at an elevation of 41m. It lies within the warm temperate semi-humid monsoon continental climate zone and belongs to the Changbai plant system, North China plant region, and Mongolian plant system.

Shenyang Arboretum is one of the facilities in Northeast China dedicated to plant introduction, domestication, and the centralized preservation of wild plant germplasm resources. Currently, the arboretum cultivates 554 species of outdoor trees and shrubs from 131 genera and 53 families, both domestic and international, as well as 466 species of perennial flowers in greenhouses and outdoors from 220 genera and 90 families. The outdoor cultivated plants belong to three plant systems, including over 50 foreign tree species, 25 nationally protected tree species, 15 non-leguminous nitrogen-fixing tree species, and more than 60 rare, threatened, or endangered plant species native to the Northeast.

The arboretum features twelve themed plant zones, including the Rare and Endangered Plants Zone, Non-leguminous Nitrogen-fixing Plants Zone, Metasequoia Garden, Herbaceous Garden, and Maple Garden, as well as various artificial sculptures and landscape ornaments.
