Dalian Zhongshan Park

Dalian Zhongshan Park in Liaoning Province is located in the eastern part of Shahekou District, Dalian, covering an area of 113,000 square meters. The original site was a small hill called Liujia Tun. During the Japanese-occupied Kwantung Leased Territory period in Dalian, the Japanese colonial authorities built the Prince Shotoku Hall on the eastern hill to enshrine a wooden statue of Prince Shotoku. The plan was to develop the hill into Prince Shotoku Park, but the park was never completed before Japan's surrender in World War II. After the liberation of Dalian, the Chinese government rebuilt the hill as a public park.
