Fuguo Park

Fuguo Park is a “hiking and fitness, sightseeing and leisure” themed park built by the People’s Government of Shahekou District to develop an “International Health City” and promote the national fitness program. The park was constructed with an investment of over 10 million yuan, planned in May 2004, and completed and opened to the public in September of the same year.

The park is located on Nantai Mountain in Shahekou District, adjacent to well-known tourist attractions such as Xinghai Bay Square and Xinghai Park. It sits on the north side of Zhongshan Road, stretching from Fuguo Street in the east to Lianshan Street in the west, covering a forested area of 580,000 square meters. The park has three peaks, with elevations of 169 meters, 189 meters, and 184 meters from west to east. From the mountaintops, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of downtown Dalian and Dalian Port, as well as overlook nearby attractions such as Xinghai Bay Square, Xinghai Park, and Heishijiao Seaside Park. Gazing out as far as the eye can see, the sea meets the sky in a breathtaking vista—truly a magnificent sight. It has been dubbed “the TV Viewing Tower in the east, and the Fuguo Viewing Platform in the west.”

The park features a network of mountain trails designed as “one horizontal, one circular, and six vertical” routes. The total length of the paths exceeds 7,500 linear meters, with a total of 2,960 steps. The width of the paths ranges from 1.1 to 1.8 meters. The surface materials primarily consist of shale slabs, supplemented with bluestone, cobblestones, and crushed stones. This design ensures both visual variety and a rustic, natural aesthetic that harmonizes with the park’s environment. The winding trails either stretch across mountain ridges, offering unobstructed views of Dalian’s scenic beauty, or meander through the lush woods. Strolling along these paths allows visitors to enjoy an intimate connection with nature while experiencing the joy of outdoor fitness.
