Former Site of the Dalian Chinese Labor Association

The Former Site of the Dalian Chinese Labor Association is a cultural relic protection unit of Liaoning Province and a patriotic education base.

The Former Site of the Dalian Chinese Labor Association is located in Shahekou District, Dalian. It functions as a local patriotic education base and a provincial-level key cultural relic protection unit. The site is situated at No. 658, Huanghe Road, Shahekou District, Dalian, directly across from the Carrefour store on Huanghe Road, and is housed in a two-story red-brick building.

Due to historical reasons, the site had long remained as just the original structure without any exhibitions. However, in October 2002, after being designated as a Party history education base by the Liaoning Provincial Committee, authorities organized professionals to collect relics and set up exhibitions in order to fully utilize its educational potential. Necessary renovations were also carried out on the site itself. In May 2003, the site officially opened to the public.

The new exhibition follows the principles of authentically recreating history and portraying figures truthfully, highlighting the characteristics of the era. Across nearly 200 square meters of exhibition space, the original office of the Chinese Labor Association has been restored, along with the room where Deng Zhongxia stayed and worked in 1924. Additionally, two exhibition rooms have been arranged to focus on the activities of the Chinese Labor Association and major historical events such as the “April 27” general strike at the Fushun Textile Mill under the leadership of the Party. A special historical documentary film, "Sparks Illuminating the Northeast," was produced specifically to enrich the exhibition content. Through authentic visual materials, it comprehensively showcases the history of the Dalian Chinese Labor Association and its unique historical significance.
