Dalian World Peace Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Dalian World Peace Park in Liaoning Province

Inaugurated on August 6, 2002, this seaside park is located in Lushun. The park is designed in the shape of half the Earth, with latitude and longitude lines made of marble embedded throughout the ground. The theme of the park is the "Peace Psalm of Hundred World Leaders": bronze statues of 96 world leaders and inscriptions of the “Psalm” etched onto the glass curtain wall form the main sights of the park. Its main building is also shaped like a peace dove. Other exhibits in the park include peace artworks donated by a hundred countries and over a thousand selected stamps themed around peace and war from around the world.

In May 1998, after the World Congress of Poets held in the United States, world leaders were invited to pray for world peace in the form of poetry or aphorisms in their native languages as the 21st century approached. This initiative was supported by more than 120 world leaders, including the President of China, former U.S. President Clinton, and former Russian President Yeltsin. To permanently commemorate this remarkable event, the park was eventually built in Lushunkou District, Dalian—known as “half of modern Chinese history”—and displays the original manuscripts of these peace psalms. Of course, the park itself also serves as a great spot for beachside fun.
