Lushun Railway Station

Introduction Located in the western part of the Baiyu Mountain Scenic Area in Lushun, at the confluence where the Long River meets the sea, stands a uniquely designed wooden building in the Russian style. With its straw hat-shaped oval spire adorned with feathery small tiles and exquisitely detailed carvings full of exotic charm, along with its Russian-style white walls and green windows, this distinctive structure is the most well-preserved European-style building along the Northeast China railway line — Lushun Railway Station. The station houses the most intact European-style platform in China, exuding a poetic and picturesque ambiance. In 1898, when Tsarist Russia forcibly leased Lüshun and Dalian, it began expanding the military port and laying railways. During the site selection process for the railway station, the original plan was to build it in Taiyanggou, but for military transportation needs, the current location was chosen instead.
