Dalian Jin Boyang Park

Jin Boyang Park is located west of Lushun Liberation Bridge and east of Victory Tower, covering an area of over 10,000 square meters. It faces south and overlooks Lushun Naval Port. The park is named in honor of Jin Boyang, a national hero who resisted Japanese aggression in Lushun. In the center of the park stands a 4-meter-tall bronze bust of Jin Boyang.

The front base of the statue is inscribed with golden characters reading “Anti-Japanese National Hero Jin Boyang,” written by Bo Yibo. The back bears the inscription: “Jin Boyang, originally named Jin Yongxu, was born on November 15, 1907, in Jiajiatun at the foot of Laotieshan. He joined the revolution at an early age, became a member of the Communist Party of China in 1929, served as a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Manchuria Provincial Committee in 1931, and in 1932 fought in anti-Japanese guerrilla warfare alongside Yang Jingyu in areas such as Panshi County in the northeast. On November 15, 1933, he died a heroic death in battle against the enemy at Hanlongwan in Jinchuan County at the age of 26. He lived up to his bold words, ‘Only a loyal heart shines with the sun and moon; I am willing to spill my blood for the land.’”

Jin Boyang was a renowned leader in the labor movement of the northeast. The CPC Central Committee’s August 1st Declaration referred to him as an anti-Japanese national hero who sacrificed his life for the nation. In August 1999, Lushun Boyang Park was designated as a patriotic education base by the CPC Dalian Municipal Committee and Dalian Municipal Government.

Jin Boyang

(1907–1933), originally named Jin Yongxu, courtesy name Jiuguang, also used the aliases Yang Zanwen and Xin Yongxi, and was known by the names Beiyang, Boyang, and Baiyang. A native of Dalian, Liaoning Province. In 1921, he enrolled in the public school affiliated with Lushun Normal School and after graduation, entered the Lushun Railway Factory Apprentice School under the South Manchuria Railway Company. Soon after, he joined the Lushun Labor Association, serving as head of the Secretariat Department. In the summer of 1926, he joined the Communist Youth League, and by the end of that year, was sent to Harbin, where he worked as a courier for the CPC North Manchuria Regional Committee.
