Jungang Park

Jungang Park is located by the world-renowned natural ice-free harbor — Lushun Naval Port. The park features a large stone stele inscribed with “Lushunkou,” a majestic bronze sculpture of a “Rising Lion,” and an Exploration & Discovery Exhibition Hall that documents Lushun’s century-long history. The stone breakwater running east-west through the park was built in 1890 and was part of the Beiyang Fleet’s base harbor facilities. Having withstood a century of change, the breakwater remains solid and sturdy. Within the park, visitors can lean on the railing to watch fish swimming near the seabed and flocks of seagulls competing in flight. The geological wonder “Tiger Tail” — formed 680 million years ago during the Sinian Period — is just a stone’s throw away.
