Dalian Medical University

Established in 1947, Dalian Medical University originated as Guandong Medical College. In 1949, it was merged into Dalian University and became the Medical College of Dalian University. In 1950, Dalian University was disbanded, and the Medical College became an independent entity. In 1969, the entire university was relocated to Zunyi, Guizhou Province, where it was re-established as Zunyi Medical College. In 1978, it reopened at its original site in Dalian and retained the name Dalian Medical College. In 1994, it was renamed Dalian Medical University. The university has since evolved into a comprehensive medical institution with a focus on medicine, as well as multidisciplinary development in science, engineering, management, art, law, and philosophy.

The university is located at No. 9, West Section of Lvshun South Road, Lushunkou District, Dalian, Liaoning Province, covering an area of 1.51 million square meters with a building area of 532,000 square meters. Its total fixed assets amount to 2.013 billion yuan, including 316 million yuan worth of teaching and research equipment. The library houses 1.0109 million volumes. Currently, the university has 21 colleges (departments), 18 affiliated hospitals, and offers 23 undergraduate programs.

Dalian Medical University is located near the Tahewan Beach on the way from Dalian to Lushun. It covers a large area, so there is plenty of green space on campus, and being close to the sea provides beautiful scenery.
