Lushun Russo-Japanese War Exhibition Hall

The Lushun Russo-Japanese War Exhibition Hall is the only museum in China dedicated to the Russo-Japanese War. Through various formats such as guided tours and physical exhibits, it presents rich and detailed information that profoundly exposes the crimes of imperialist aggression against China.

The Russo-Japanese War of 1904 to 1905 was a significant turning point in modern history. It was not only a power struggle between an Asian nation and a semi-European one, but more importantly, it represented a full-scale challenge by the West in Asia. When Port Arthur fell on January 1, 1905, Russian commander Stoessel requested surrender from Japanese General Nogi. On the morning of January 2, he raised the white flag. By evening, the Russian forces had signed the surrender treaty. In this battle, Russian casualties and missing totaled 31,306, while Japanese casualties and missing reached 57,178, with an additional 33,769 suffering from illness.
