Former Site of Lushun Industrial School

The former site of Lushun Industrial School is a cultural heritage protection unit of Dalian.

The former site of Lushun Industrial School is located at No. 23 Xinhua Street, Lushunkou District. On June 28, 2013, it was included in the fifth batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units in Dalian.

The former Russian Lushun Industrial School is located at No. 25 Xinhua Street, Lushun New Urban Area, Dalian. Constructed in 1900, it has a building area of 1,641 square meters. In 1903, the Russian Empire established Lushun Industrial School here. During the Japanese occupation, it served as quarters for Japanese officers. When the Soviet Army took over in 1945, it became a trophy exhibition hall. After the Chinese military assumed control in 1955, China’s first military museum was established on the site. State leaders such as Zhou Enlai and Zhu De visited the museum. In 1966, it was repurposed as a military club. It is now leased for commercial use by the Dalian Real Estate Administration Bureau of the Shenyang Military Region.

Protected Area: The protected area includes the interior of the existing exterior wall foundation of the site.

Construction Control Zone: A 20-meter perimeter outside the protected area is designated as a Class III construction control zone.
