Former Site of Lushun Normal School

The former site of Lushun Normal School is a cultural heritage protection unit of Liaoning Province.

The former site of Lushun Normal School is located at No. 24 Lenin Street, Lushunkou District. On June 28, 2013, it was included in the fifth batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units in Dalian.

Located at No. 24 Lenin Street, Sunyanggou, Lushun, the building was constructed in 1898 in the Russian classical style. It was originally founded as a school established by Americans... (text truncated) ... Another account states that it was a school led by Russians, and in 1916, the Japanese established the Normal Department of Lushun Higher School here. In 1918, it became independent as Lushun Normal School. In 1932, the Normal Department of Lushun Higher Public School was established here, and in 1944, it became an independent institution named Lushun Normal Public School. After 1945, it was used as a Soviet military hospital, and after 1955, it was taken over by the Army’s 215th Hospital. It is now a municipal-level cultural heritage protection unit.

Protected area: The protection zone includes the exterior walls of the original building, extending 15 meters outward to the east, south, and west, while the northern side is bounded by the exterior wall base of the building itself.

Construction control zone: A Zone II construction control area extends 20 meters outward to the east, south, and north of the protected area, and a Zone IV control area extends 20 meters to the west.
