Introduction  　

This is a brand-new calling card presented to the world by nature. It is yet another remarkable natural landscape created by the people of Benxi in building their mountain-water industrial city.

The grand canyon has been lying dormant for 800 to 1,000 million years. Through prolonged geological processes, along with various forms of weathering, erosion, and transportation, it has formed the geologically famous “Diaoyutai Formation” landform. With the earth’s crust uplifted nearly 100 meters, this vast canyon stretching over dozens of square kilometers features grotesque rock formations resembling human figures, cascading springs from valley cliffs, ancient pines hanging upside down, birds chirping, and fragrant flowers — all with their own unique charm. Stepping into this place feels like entering an unseen gallery of canyon landscapes.

The grand canyon is located within the Nanfen District, 20 kilometers south of Benxi City, Liaoning Province, at the 85-kilometer mark of the Shenyang–Dandong Expressway. The main scenic area consists of two parts: the East Gorge and the West Gorge.

The East Gorge is primarily situated around Group 6 of Jinjing. The longest viaduct on the Shenyang–Dandong Expressway spans the river along the valley, with majestic cliffs rising on both sides, corresponding in height — a wonder akin to sovereigns and ministers, fathers and sons. The magical “One-Line Sky” and falling rocks from great heights are awe-inspiring. The ancient Diaoyutai has welcomed countless anglers throughout history.
