Shilong Scenic Area

Shilong Scenic Area, covering an area of 2.8 square kilometers, is located 8 kilometers from the Nafen exit of the Shen-Dan Expressway. Its main attraction is a peculiar, approximately 60-meter-long "dragon"-shaped rock formation on the cliffs of a secluded valley—remarkably lifelike, hence the name "Shilong" (Stone Dragon). A Dragon King Temple once stood nearby, serving as an ancient site for offering prayers to the heavens and praying for rain. The valley is densely forested with tall trees and features murmuring streams, all embraced by surrounding mountains, offering an exceptionally pristine ecological environment. The eastern mountainous region also preserves large areas of virgin forest, rich in wild and ornamental plants.
