Sun Mountain Scenic Area

The Sun Mountain Scenic Area is located seven kilometers from Changtu County. The Changwei Highway runs through the area. The scenic zone features undulating mountain ranges with over ten peaks of varying sizes. The highest peak stands at an elevation of 306 meters, while the lowest reaches 208 meters.

The beautiful and sparkling Sun Lake, embedded among the mountains like a pearl, creates a series of stunning landscape paintings. The scenic area lies within the mid-temperate, sub-humid continental monsoon climate zone. The mountain vegetation is lush and diverse, with over twenty tree species including pine, poplar, oak, locust, hazel, and hawthorn.

The reconstructed Changtai Temple, nestled by the mountain and lake, further integrates the natural and cultural landscapes of the scenic area, creating a harmonious blend that makes it a uniquely valuable tourist destination in Changtu.

Changtu Town: As the seat of the county government, Changtu Town is the political, economic, and cultural hub of the entire county. It is one of the 100 key towns in the province, serving as a distribution center for industrial and agricultural products within the county, as well as a major hub for passenger and freight transport. It is a locality-focused industrial town primarily geared toward the development of the non-public sector economy. The town covers an area of 193 square kilometers. The eastern part comprises seven mountainous villages, while the western part is home to the largest reservoir in the county. The Chengguan River flows from east to west through the center of the urban area. The Shenchang Railway and Shenyang–Harbin Expressway run east–west across the region, and the Beijing–Harbin Highway stretches north–south. The town boasts advanced communication facilities, facilitating convenient connections and interactions with other regions.
