Tongming Mountain Scenic Area

The Bahuai Tongming Mountain Scenic Area is located in Bahuai Town in the eastern mountainous region of Liaoyang County, 33 kilometers from the county seat. Adjacent to the Qianshan Mountain range, it boasts a prime geographical location and is one of the historically renowned mountains. Konglong Mountain, named after the tale of Tang Dynasty general Xue Rengui shooting an arrow through the cliff. Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin, also left behind many beautiful legends here.

The scenic area features towering and precipitous peaks, uniquely shaped mountains, winding secluded paths, and pristine waters and lush greenery. Exotic rocks and rare trees are found everywhere. Dense tree canopies block out the sun, while the fragrance of southern fruits wafts up from the foothills. In spring, flowers bloom in profusion; in autumn, fruit is ready for picking. The landscape is dotted with romantic blossoms, creating picturesque pastoral scenes. Tongming Mountain is one of the highest peaks in southern Liaoning, standing at 770 meters above sea level. It is said that “though many claim Qianshan’s Immortal Platform is high, the platform only reaches the waist of Tongming Mountain.”

Standing atop Tongming Mountain and looking into the distance, you can clearly see the scenery of the Immortal Platform. On clear days, when you look north, you can even faintly make out the White Pagoda of Liaoyang. Tongming Mountain echoes and faces the historic Fahua Temple across the road. It is also close to Xiadah River’s Longfeng Temple, less than 10 kilometers away. This area remains an undeveloped gem, making it an ideal destination for people to connect with nature, embrace the great outdoors, and enjoy a refined lifestyle. In recent years, the number of visitors coming here for leisure and vacation has been steadily increasing.
