No need to fear visiting national parks anymore！ An integrated system makes it easier to explore the mountains and forests.

The Ministry of the Interior’s Construction and Planning Agency commissioned the Geographic Information System Research Center at Feng Chia University to develop and complete the“Taiwan National Parks Entry and Mountain Entry Online Application Service,”which integratesthe online application systems for entry into three alpine national parks—the Yushan National Park, Taroko National Park, and Shei-Pa National Park—. Through this integrated system, the public can avoid the trouble of using different platforms. The service includes access to information such as mountain entry guidelines, trail availability, campsite and bunk bed availability, and general travel and hiking information—all available on the website. The platform also offers expanded features such as a mobile version, SMS notifications, and automated email alerts. This integrated system will begin parallel operations and go live on November 25, 2015.

To accommodate this new measure, the application systems for the three alpine national parks will be temporarily suspended for one day on November 24 for data migration to the new system and system checks. The new system will officially launch and begin accepting applications on November 25. However, although the three alpine national parks now share an integrated online application system, each management office still maintains unique features for their hiking routes and mountain huts, so there remain differences in management practices. The public is advised to pay close attention to these variations.

The Taroko National Park Administration reminds hikers that henceforth, applications for entry into Yushan, Taroko, and Shei-Pa national parks can all be submitted through a shared platform.
